How Was Your Flight? [2] – Only recently found the manuscript of this short story which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in July 2000. It was inspired by a story I read in my youth, ‘A Tale of Terror’ by the British writer Thomas Hood, first published in ‘The London Magazine’, 1821
We Got Tonight [3]– I wrote this short romantic story – which does not mention politics – while I was in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh and sent it to the BBC [stating that I was a prisoner]. In January 1992 a contract was drawn up, which I signed through my solicitor, and the story was recorded a few weeks later. It was due to broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in March 1992 but was then suddenly banned by the BBC’s Controller of Editorial Policy, John Wilson, who in a letter said: “Your short story should never have been accepted, and in the existing circumstances you should forget any encouragement from anywhere in the BBC to write a play or other creative work for entertainment purposes.”

You Haven’t Changed A Bit [6] – This short story was first published in Verbal magazine in 2008
